Quick and easy snacksAll you need is finely chopped or grated cheese and some bread slices. If you have some, line the skillet with your Bake-O-Glide and heat over a low burner.
Put a small pile of grated cheese in the pan alongside a piece of bread. When the cheese has melted, mop it up with the toasted side of the bread, and place the bread, un-toasted side down, back into the skillet. Once the second side is cooked you have delicious toast on cheese.
For a change, why not add finely chopped onion, chopped ham, or any of your favourite meat or vegetables to the cheese and follow the same method.
For something a little more filling, cut a ring in the centre of a slice of bread – use the centre for cheese on toast as above – and toast in the skillet.
Turn the bread ring over and put an egg in the centre; if you prefer hard egg yolks, you can put the egg in during the first toasting and then turn over. Once the egg is cooked, serve it on its own or alongside the toasted cheese with a small green salad.
The meal is quick, nourishing, and it won’t take too much gas (or time).
