This tasty baguette makes an ideal snack or even a meal if served with chips or salad. Always buy your baguette on the day you are going to eat it so that it’s nice and fresh; you can choose granary, wholemeal or white according to your preference.
The filling requires bacon, brie cheese, and tomato chutney, amounts being to personal taste and appetites. Simply grill the bacon until it’s almost (but not quite) crispy.
While the bacon is cooking, split the baguette and spread with some chutney as you would if using butter. Fill with the cooked bacon add the cheese and serve immediately it’s that easy.
This is a versatile recipe because you can choose your favourite cut of bacon, the brie can be French or English and you can add the chutney you like best. You can also use bread rolls if you can’t buy a baguette, although Chalky and I prefer the real thing. It only takes a few minutes to prepare and cook, and it’s delicious to eat.
